Sun Haven is a farming sim for people who love high fantasy, magic, and skill trees. It’s Stardew Valley, but just a touch nerdier. It kicks off with you and one of the potential love interests on a train to Sun Haven itself, and as you approach the town, darkness surrounds the train, and that’s where the mystery begins.
From there, the first stages are going to feel very familiar to anyone who’s played a farming sim before. You get given some tools by a witch who feels very morally grey, and then you’re off to the races. That means growing crops, pulling up weeds, and then heading into town.
That’s where things get fun though. Rather than just having to grow 17 different turnips for some reason, you get to do other things like hunting big monsters, or befriending baby dragons. You then get to craft plenty of different items and explore the world as you want.
You also gain new abilities and skills as your journey continues, and that includes things like the ability to dash in the air or throw fireballs. Plus, all of this can be enjoyed with not just one other player, but up to seven other players at the same time.
You also get the chance to create farms in three cities in total, and you can romance all of the potential love interests at the same time, if you’re feeling frisky. It’s just a really cool take on the farming sim that feels a lot more action-packed than most in the genre, and if you love the idea of having a more-involved version of a farming sim, one where you can be a demon or an angel if you want to, then Sun Haven is absolutely going to be perfect for you.
